outlook today in navigation pane

I started outlook 2003 today and noticed that outlook today isn't in the
navigation pane on left side anymore. I did quick google but no answers that
worked. been no changes lately, don't want to a repair install if possible.

click on the top level of your message store - or click the house and clock
icon on the toolbar or press ctrl+7 then Outlook today.

That takes me there but still doesn't put it in the list like
mail,calender,contacts,tasks are. I am thinking this might have been a
"tweak" I found somewhere.

It can be done.
right click on your personal folders icon and go to "properties fo
personal folders
click on the "homepage" ta
copy the address info.. (mine is res://C:\Program Files\Microsof
Office\OFFICE11\1033\outlwvw.dll/outlook.htm
exit from that box and go and create a new folder in your persona
folders
call the folder "Outlook Today
right click on that and go to properties
click on the homepage tab and enter the data you copied befor
(res://C:\Program Files\Microsof
Office\OFFICE11\1033\outlwvw.dll/outlook.htm

save.. now you have an outlook today in your navigation pan
 
umm... the top level of your default data store is Outlook Today - no need
to create a second copy. Just click on the top folder to view it.
