Outlook Slow

My ISP, (Cavalier) upgraded their mail servers. Since that time Outlook
clients take a very long time to download emails. Cavalier won't give me any
help as to their changes. Their only reply is to get emails from their mail
portal. I'm in the process of changing ISPs, but in the meantime is there
anything I can do to speed up the download process, since Cavalier doesn't
want to be helpful?
 
Define slow.
What mail account type are you using?
What version of Outlook are you using?

If you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook disable this and
try again.
