Hi,
All of a sudden Windows decided to create a new profile, causing my Outlook
settings to disappear into oblivian. I have more than 12 e-mail accounts
with corresponding rules stored in this old account. Is there a util
available which can extract these settings from my old profile and restore
them into my new?

Thanks in advance!

Windows doesn't "decide" to so anything. It does only what it's told to do.

If this "profile" you mention a Windows user profile or a mail profile? If
the latter, see if your prior profile still exists with Control Panel's Mail
applet. Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles.

No, not possible.

Also; if it created a new profile doesn't that mean the old one has been
deleted?

I'm aware it doesn't do something on its own. So it must have something to
do with a corrupt windows profile (or something similar). Thing is, there's
no obvious reason why this profile should be corrupt. Windows shut down
without any error.... (Yes, I pressed Start to shut the system down)

It's the Windows profile, 'Show Profiles' only shows the new profile.

The Mail applet's Show Profile has nothing to do with the Windows user
profile. If you have a new Windows profile, the Mail applet won't show
another user's mail profile

Does the new Windows user have Administrator privileges? If so, look in
"C:\Documents and Settings" for the old Windows user. Your old PST should
be under "C:\Documents and Settings\olduser\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. It's a hidden folder, so be sure to modify the
Folder Options to enable viewing hidden files and folders.

Found the pst-file.
To save time I gave up searching for a solution and started manually
defining new accounts and rules.
Thanks for you support!
