Suddenly, Outlook will not send or receive any mail. It has been working,
but from one boot to the next it just quit. Now I can only send/receive
using Express. The POP3 and SMTP are the same for both and the "Test"
feature says it is "OK", sending a test message that it does not recieve.
When I check mail in OE...there is the test message. I removed Outlook, it
is part of the Office suite, and reloaded but no good. Is there any other
ideas...a patch...a fix...

Thanks, Paul...

What version of Outlook and what error message do you get when you use the
test account settings? Have you tried a new mail profile here->Control
Panel->Mail Icon->Show Profiles->New?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Paul asked:

I too am having this problem. There is not an error
message for my case, and my Outlook version is 2002.

If I run the test in the email settings it shows that the
server is receiving and sending. However the mail never
appears in my in box but it is in the sent mail.

I did create a new profile but it had the same results. I
also add a new email account to test the system, the new
account was able to send and receive mail (I used a
completely different account on a different network for
that test).

Looks like you and I are in the same boat:
1.) Outlook 2002 (10.2627.2625)
2.) No error messages
3.) Created and tryed adding account (didn't work either)
4.) Test procedure comes out positive, sends a test message that never
arrives in Outlook.

I believe that there is a bug or glitch in Outlook, because I have gone over
all the bases. Is there a file or .dll something that needs to be repalced.
Is there something in the registry that got goofed up???

At this point, I don't have a clue...
