I've noticed today that my Outlook is running *REALLY* slow when I try to
create and send a new email. A few times now I've had to CTRL ALT DLT to
restart the program. Any ideas? I have not added any new software (except the
new XP securities updates).
Thanks for any help or ideas!

What version of Outlook are we talking about here? Are you using Word or
Outlook as the e-mail editor? Do you have any add-ins installed? Do you have
a virusscanner that integrates with Office product? If so disable the
integration and try again.

Tips of the month:
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data
-Creating a Permanent New Mail Desktop Alert in Outlook 2003

I am running Office Outlook 2003 (11.6359.6408) SP1.
No outlook add-ins installed on this PC.
Using Symantec Virus software (not attached to the email software).
I am also not currently receiving any Windows Updates then sometimes slow
down the system.

And the e-maileditor being used?

Symantec Anti-Virus also has Office (not just Outlook) integration. Make
sure this is disabled.
