Outlook Rules

I have set up several rules to get rid of some spam and they are not
working. Each rule is "Turned On" and I have tested each one aginst specific
messages in the inbox and they are not being moved to the deleted folder
where I am telling them to be moved.
I feel I am missing something here. Is there some setting that turns on
the whole rules system?

Outlook 2000, Win98se
 
Is it possible that more than one rule is acting on a particular message?
Try adding "stop processing more rules" to each of the rules and see if that
helps.
