outlook removes email from server

i set up Outlook 2000 for my college account. imap incoming server and
smtp outgoing. this is the problem: i open up outlook and find new
email and read it. But when i go to the website that i get my email
from (our schools site that you log into to access ur email just like
every other email site), it's no longer in the inbox. the servers
inbox is empty, yet the emails are in the outlook inbox. is there a
way to keep my email on the server online so i can access it on other
computers?

IMAP doesn't remove messages from the server. That's one of the advantages
of IMAP. What you're saying doesn't make sense to me.
