I had to reformat my hard drive, but I managed to keep all my outlook files
(exported and saved as CSV) on a disk. Now that I have re-installed
outlook, I can't seem to get them back on.

First I got an error message that the translator was missing, so I installed
it from the office cd. I am now getting a message that says the translator
can't read the files. I tried to get them over my network with another
computer that has the files and got the same thing.

Then I tried to export and save them on my other computer as PST. When I
tried to import, I got access denied.

Any thoughts on this? Anything I am doing wrong?

First save the PST to your hard drive, then check the
proporties of the PST, make sure it's not read only.
Sometimes when you save a PST to CD it changes to read
only.

Next time, just copy your PST. That saves everything in one fell swoop. No
export or import required. In fact, when going from Outlook to Outlook,
that's the only way to guarantee you'll lose nothing.

Make sure the files you're trying to open aren't read only.

All set. my bad. I saved it to desktop not encrypted and networked it over
to the other computer.

Thanks
