Whenever I attempted to access my email account using outlook XP or
2003 I would receive the following message:
"The operation failed due to a registry or installation Problem.
Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persist please
reinstall". I had uninstalled and re-installed MS Office several
times and I also deleted all of the entries in the registry pertaining
to Outlook without any success.
I fixed this problem by going to the Control Panel and accessing the
email icon. There I displayed the profiles. My system had a single
entry called Outlook. I deleted the entry and then when I restarted
Outlook it rebuilt the profile prompting me for email server, etc.
