Outlook quoting

Please make Outlook's quoting attributable to the author of the quote so that
it's easier to identify multiple authors in a thread. Thanks.

What is the context for this? Outlook is not a newsreader, so I don't
understand the reference to "thread".
 
many people want either customizable reply header or something better than:

with the default settings of no carets to indicate quoted material, you only
have a block such as the one about to separate and identify the quoted text.
