outlook pst file too large

my outlook.pst file is huge.. i deleted a ton of emails and deleted the
delete folder.. also removed a bunch of sents and cleared the deltete
dfolder.. but the file is still huge.. is there a tool within outlook that
clears out empty space or how do i make it smaller? its about 1.43 gig
 
Right click on Outlook Today, select properties->advanced. Use the Compact
Now button.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, jp asked:

After deleteing all that stuff, compact your PST. Right-click its root in
the Folders List, choose Properties, then click Advanced and Compact Now.
