My Outlook.pst file has been deleted. It is gone for good and not

When OL can't find its PST file, it should prompt you to search for
it or create a new one. Create a new one in the location of your
choice and name it myname.pst.
Note for future reference: when you post in here, always include
your version/mode/SP level of Outlook (from Help | About), what
kind of mail account(s) you use if this concerns mail, etc.
Methods for many things vary by version.
I am using OL2003 in POP3 mode. When I try to load OL, it says it
cannot find the default file outlook.pst and then closes. I am not
left a choice to create a new one.
OK (and for what it's worth, there are no 'modes' in OL2002/2003,
which is nice).
Go to control panel, mail, and in the properties of your profile
remove the offending Personal Folders service, add it back & specify
the path/name you wish. Does that work?
