outlook.pst default location

It is usually under the Application Data folder, sometimes using the profile
name. However, the .pst file can live anywhere.

Why are you asking? Are you trying to find it? If you are using Windows
2000 or XP, enable searching hidden and system files and you should be able
to locate it.

I keep mine on a second hard drive so installing Outlook again just required
the deletion of the new .pst file and the File-->Open of the old.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer,
(e-mail address removed) asked:

| What is the default file location for outlook.pst?
|
| Thanks in advance,

Well, I moved it from its default location a long time
ago, and have a palm conduit that apparently only synchs
my outlook files if the .pst is in its default location.

Any idea what the exact default location is so I can
relocate it?

Thanks again,
Mike

That depends on your version of Windows. For Windows 98, it's usually
C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. For WIndows 2000 and Window
XP, it's usually
C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application
data\Microsoft\Outlook.
