I was installing something last night, and while exploring the CD, I
mis-clicked a file with PRF extension. At that time, some pop-up
message from Outlook came up. I did not read the details and just
canceled it without giving it much thoughts.

This morning when I restarted my machine, my Outlook profile is
entirely blank, with no contacts, no tasks, no notes, nothing, as
though it was re-installed blank. The original Outlook profile as far
as I can tell is still there, named "outlook.pst" under the local
settings/application data, but when I tried to open it, nothing
changed.

I then tried to restore system to earlier restore, the first earlier
one was a "System Checkpoint" from yesterday morning. When I tried to
restore that, it says "operation incomplete" and the machine could not
restore to that particular point after restart.

I am running Windows XP Home and Outlook 2002. Any suggestion what I
should do next?

A PST file is your data file, not a profile.
Search your hard drive for all PST files and open each until you find your
data. Creating a new profile never touches your data.
