EACH TIME I TRY TO SEND MAIL TO DELETE FILE AND/OR TRY TO DELETE I GET A
MESSAGE "c:\windows\outlook.pst could not be accessed, data error (cyclic
redundancy check) any ideas????

run the inbox repair tool on the pst - scanpst.exe
what size is the pst? if larger than approx 1.6gb its corrupt (I assume you
have pre OL2003)

The information you provide doesn't help with Outlook 2000, which I am
running, as there is no Inbox Repair Tool or OST Integrity Tool. I have
repaired Outlook and also uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook using the
original Office 2000 Professional CD, but the problem continues, nanemly that
each time I attempt to delete a message, whether from the Inbox or even the
Deleted Items folder, Error Message 1000 appears and Outlook shuts down.
Please help.

Firstly have you done a search for the file called "scanpst.exe" with your
search function? AFAIK Office 2000 DOES have this file. Secondly, try
creating a new Outlook profile, and thirdly, why did you not post in an
Outlook group? MS Office is NOT part of windows XP.

Thanks Gordon. Yes, I tried scanpst.exe but when I browsed, I was unable to
locate the file to scan. I don't know how to create a new profile; the word
"profile" isn't mentioned in Outlook 2000 Help. I did create a new account,
but it made no difference. Can you advise further, or do I need to refer to
the Outlook newsgroup? I'm a newcomer to looking for online support, and
haven't found my way around this site yet.

Have you tried the Outlook Newsgroups?
