When I look at my e mails in Outlook - it automatically shows a preview of
the text - if the e mail contains a virus am I at risk even if I delete the e
mail without opening it!

You are not at risk. Outlook 2002 and 2003 don't allow code execution in the
Reading Pane and block several type of attachments that could contain
virusses. For previous versions of Outlook it works the same after you have
installed the latest updates.

Tips of the month:
-FREE tool; QuickMail. Create new Outlook items anywhere from within Windows
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data

I would like to know how to preview my emails. I used to be able to do this,
but somehow it has disappeared. Can you help me to access it again, please?

You are not adding to the existing thread. Your topic is different.
Your problem is different. Start your own new thread about YOUR
problem.

So when you were in Outlook and hit the F1 key to search on "preview
pane", none of the matching articles told you how to show/hide it? You
get more matches by searching on "reading pane" (Microsoft changed the
name despite the same functionality: confusion is how Microsoft shams
users into thinking they got a new version of a product).
