Hi all,

I'd just like to know which of these two email clients is better for Access
to integrate with. I know Outlook integrates well but alot of
people/businesses use Outlook Express and it seems to be problematic. Is it
an option at all?

OE doesn't expose it objects for you to use Automation and
there for you can only do a number of simple thing with
SendObject ...

Hence Outlook is definitely the go if you have to choose
between OE and Outlook. There are other methods such as
CDO, etc ...

I'm finding it extremely frustrating to link the two for what should be a
simle task.
I want to send email both to individuals and to the group as a whole.
I don't think I should have to go through each record and change the
"hypertext" field to an email client. It shoould be a table level choice.
If I attach to Outlook Clients I think I should be able to build a query
based on the category but that is not shown so I'm stuck with adding
something in a custom field and using that.

It's been a frustrating experience.
I finally ended up just pasting the Access email field into a group on
Outlook and using that.
Tonight (The festival is over and I've got 10 months before starting work on
the next one) I exported from Access and imported into Outlook... Surprise,
surprise. Outlook exports the whole contents of the email field so I had
more work to do.

It's not that it's hard to write the code to do what I want in Access, it's
just that it seems it should link to Outlook better. Without extra work I
can't even join the Outlook table with the Access table because there is no
key field exposed.
