Why do my Outlook Note icons show up as 2 different shaped icons?
One is the standard sticky note looking icon.
The other is slanted 45 degrees with writing on it.
What determines which icon is used when I create a new note?
I sync with a Pocket PC. The icons are all the same on the Pocket PC.

I'm not sure I fully get this. Do you have a screenshot?

Tips of the month:
-What do the Outlook Icons Mean?
-Create an Office 2003 CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1

Nice :-) Does it indicate where they were created or something? It's a bit
like a "customized form"

It seems to me that the old-style icons (the slanted pages with writing on
them) were what Outlook 2000 with PocketPC 2002 used and the Post-It® Note
look-alikes started when I upgraded to Outlook 2003 and started using a
PocketPC 2003 iPAQ.

I use Outlook 2003 with a Dell X30 Axim running Pocket PC 2003. I'm a
beginner with the Pocket PC coming from Palm Pilot. I have used the Palm from
the beginning. I was on their beta test team. I noticed the 2 different note
icons shortly after getting the Dell. I really like using the Pocket PC, but
MS needs to take a look at the Palm Pilot system and get up to speed. MS is
really lacking in certain areas.

Market analysis shows that sales of PocketPCs have now surpassed sales of
Palm-based PDAs

I have more or less same problem under Outlook XP and 2003.
When notes comes from my PDA (Palm OS) after synchronization they are
different from those created directly from Outlook:
- not possible to change the color from right click on the notes, the
"color" menu item does not appear in the contextual menu (I have to double
click the note then open the menu).
- I can not save it as RTF.

Is there a difference of format between both ?

I don't have any experience with Palm OS.
