Outlook not saving settings

One of my users (remote, so I can't look at the settings myself) is
having a problem. She goes into Outlook and removes the check for
"leave a copy of messages on the server" but after awhile she goes
back in and finds that the box is checked again. I verified on the
phone with her that she is not just closing the configuration, but is
actually clicking "ok" back to the Account Settings page and then is
clicking "finish."

Anyone here seen that problem? If so, how do you fix it so that the
check box stays un-checked? Would the "cleanprofile" switch fix that,
do you think?

I should mention that this is Outlook 2007 in case it makes any
difference.
