Outlook not responding

I have recently wiped my hard drive and installed XP Pro and Office Pro and
have downloaded all the updates needed. However when I have used Outlook and
then close it down it stops responding and won't open again. I have run
norton anti-virus now a few times with latest definitions and also adaware
and nothing comes up with either of those, and given it is a fresh loading of
the software I am not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Chances are it's not shutting down. Something is keeping it open. If,
after closing Outlook you still see OUTLOOK.EXE as a process in Task
manager, then this is what is happening. See
