Outlook not detecting LAN

I recently migrated from Outlook Express to Outlook 2003 on the same
computer. I am using MS XP Home SP2.
Everything migrated fine to Outlook 2003, but I cannot connect to my pop
server. I have a DSL line running through a Wireless Linksys router. If I
shut down Outlook 2003 and open Outlook Express, it can still send and
receive email.
I checked and all the servers are input correctly along with passcodes. If I
"test account settings" it fails on the Establish network connection. For
some reason Outlook 2003 does not see my LAN connection. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Look at the Account, Change, More Settings and make sure you are using LAN
connection. Do not use Secure Server or SPA. Nothing checked on Outgoing
Server tab except "use same settings as incoming" which should be greyed out.
Do not fill in passwords or anything on this page. You also have to select
Outlook as the default instead of OE.

Thanks Mary. I double checked each of the items you suggested and they are
all set correctly. Outlook 2003 is still unable to establish a network
connection. Do I need to uninstall Outlook Express? Is there someplace other
than Internet Options that I need to choose Outlook as the default?
Thanks,
Kyle

I figured the problem out. Here is what I did to fix my problem in case it
helps anyone with a similar problem running Win XP SP2 and Outlook 2003.

Went to Start/ Control Panel/ Internet Options/ Connections/ LAN Settings.
Here I checked the "Automatically detect settings". For some reason it was
not checked.
