Outlook not closing, just keeps hanging

I have a problem with Outlook closing properly. The exit
prompt to wait while Outlook closes never closes. I have
to use Task Manager to get rid of the prompt. This occurs
on whatever computer I am using which has me thinking it
is a problem with my mailbox vs. the client (I have tried
three computers now - with same result). Please advise
 
Several IT people in my department experience this as
well. We determined that the problem arose from having
opened our Exchange 5.5 mailbox with Outlook 2003 on a
test box and then going back to Outlook 2000 on our
standard machines. This problem follows us to any machine
we use that has Outlook 2000 on it.

We have not found a solution for it yet and the KB has
nothing on it yet.
 
I read something on a FAQ for an Outlook add-in that
mentioned using: File, Exit from the menu. This works
most of the time . . . way better than clicking on the "X"
in the upper right corner of the window.
