Outlook new appointment should show address book icon

When I create a new appointment in outlook the address book icon does not
show on the tool bar.
I have to use menu items Tools | address book to add invitees.
Once I have some names selected the address book icon then shows.

Millions of users must wonder at the logic of this and be slighly frustrated.

Please have the address book icon showing even before any names are chosen.

Doesn't on mine either. I use the "Invite Attendees" button and then the
Address Book button appears. However, I just click "To" to access the
address book.

Why not try using the "Invite..." button. If it's not on your Standard
toolbar, use Customize to add it.
