outlook needs to be reinstalled

hey everybody,
i have the office 2003 standard package. i wanted to download the 2007
trial, but when i installed it, i realized i was overwriting my old stuff and
cancelled it. all the programs still work, except for outlook.
when i try to start it, it says:
cannot start microsoft office outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong
version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software.
please reinstall outlook.
what can i do to get it back to work?

Locate and rename MAPI32.DLL to, say, MAPI32.OLD and restart Outlook. Does
that help?

no, unfortunately not. it still has the same error message!
