outlook locks

everytime i boot up and then reply to a message, the outlook locks, i have to
end task and reboot - then it will work without any problem, but it is
maddening, I can't seemto find a fix for it.....any ideas?

I spent 2 hours on the phone with dell - that was a total waste of
time....Help

Which version of Outlook are you using?

What anti-virus software do you have installed?

Either turn off McAfee's email scanning
or, the best solution is to uninstall McAfee.
Email scanning is redundant when you already
have "real-time" scanning on. I've seen McAfee
and Norton/Symantec cause more problems with
Outlook than either are worth, and they also can
cause overall system performance problems.

There are better alternatives, and some of
them are free.

At least, turn off McAfee's email "protection"
