outlook item count

OK, this is a silly question but I will ask anyway. In Outlook if you click
on any folder under "Outlook Today" such as deleted items, inbox, sent, etc;
it gives you a statistic in the lower left side of the bottom bar that says
something like "21 items, 2 unread". One user here says they used to have
it but it has dissappeared. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get
it back. I see it on my machine but it won't let me click on it to see any
properties. Does anyone know how I can get it back?

View>Status Bar, perhaps?
 
Brian,

if my head was not screwed on, I would lose it. You are right. It was a
bad day yesterday and I can't believe I missed the obvious.
