Outlook is slow opening email

Suddenly Outlook 2002 is very slow opening new email
messages with the preview pane on. It is also very slow
to open messages period. I have done a Detect & Repair to
no avail.
 
Go to Tools -> Options -> Other and disable Instant Messaging integration.
