HELP ! This should be simple for someone but not me. I
used to have a number on the left side of my screen when
in my in-box that would tell me the total number of e-
mails in my inbox (normally around 200-300). This was not
JUST the new ones which are reflected on the folders
line. It was at the bottom of the page and would change
immediately if I deleted or added one.

I lost the number and want it back. How do I do that?

Thanks for any help anyone can give !

Cindy

Is there some reason you can't tell from the subject line
and the fact that the server keeps the messages
together? I don't see any reason to waste server space!

The reason is that some people use dedicated newsreader programs to read the
newsgroups, and some of us choose to show only new/unread messages...it's
easier for us to know what's going on if we can see all (or at least the
relevant parts) of previous posts quoted in a reply. Snipping of previous
posts is always helpful when quoting...to save server space :-) (and so we
don't have to wade through irrelevant stuff)
