Hi,

When I try to create a new message or to forward a
message, Outlook hangs forever (it hangs when it tries to
open Word as the e-mail editor). When I don't use Word as
the e-mail editor it doesn't hang, the problem is that I
would like to use Word as the e-mail editor. I'm using
Office XP.

Is there something that can be done to fix this issue? I
searched through the posted messages but didn't find
anything.

Thanks for your time and help.

Eric,

first of all Outllok and word should have the same version.

Secondly when opening word antivirus software with Office protection, it
tries to do a scan.

Remember it doesnt help just to disable the antivirus program in most cases,
you need to disable Office protection in settings as well (try disabling
mail protection while youre there to). This can also happen after you
uninstalled an antivirus program, some programs doesnt uninstall completely
but will need a remeovel tool from website.

I am having the same problem. Outlook (2003) is also getting "hung up" as
soon as I open it up. A little icon appears on the lower left of my screen
stating that "Outlook is synchronizing the folders". Any help on fixing
these problems is appreciated.

I am having the same problems in OL 2003. However it hangs whenever i go to the reply forward or new message button. System locks up completely. Another wierd one... this also happens when I expand any menu item. Very strange. I've unchecked Word as email editor as an option. But I still have issues. Thanks in advance for any help!!!
