Outlook hangs when closing

After accessing Outlook exchange folders using Outlook 2003, Outlook 2000
will not close after accesing those same folders. Any clues anyone?

Known issue, try starting Outlook 2000 with the /cleanreminders and
/cleanfreebusy command line switch or call Microsoft Product Support and
acquire the fix mentioned in

I had this problem on quite a few pc's and my line manager managed to get hold of the microsoft patch mentioned in this knowledgebase article

Frankly, with all the web-based messages purportedly containing Microsoft
patches but actually containing viruses, who can trust such a download?

I'm sure anyone who's in desperate need of this patch - as i was, will
be willing to download the file and virus scan it, on the offchance
that i could actually be genuinely trying to help people!

But since Microsoft never sends patches by e-mail, especially unsolicited

what's microsoft sending patches by email got to do with anything? i'm not
offering to email it to anyone - it's on my webspace!
