Outlook hangs at startup

After logo displays and inbox displays hour glass does
not go away and outlook stops responding. outlook 2000

remove outlook and re-install it, that should take care of
it

I posted a message earlier. Someone in my office did one of
the Windows updates this morning and since we can't open
Outlook. It asks for the password then hangs. We can access
the IMAP server from another application.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook! Still
nothing..................

I re-installed and problem still persisted. I also
upgraded to sp3
