Can anyone help me on this issue. I need to import a large pst file with my
folders from Outlook 2003 edition to Windows Mail. What a pain. You would
think it would be plug n play in this day and age! Thanks all for the help in
advance. PABOY1

You'll need to install Outlook on the target machine, only Outlook can open
a .PST file and its presence is required for the transfer. Alternatively,
you can transfer the Outlook 2003 data to Outlook Express (I assume you're
coming from Outlook 2003 installed on Windows XP, Outlook Express would
therefore be present on this machine to accept the Outlook 2003 data),
transfer the OE .DBX files to the Vista machine, and import these. Windows
Mail can directly import OE files. If it were me, I'd transfer both Outlook
2003 and its data to the Vista machine and continue to use it; Outlook 2003
and later are fully Vista compatible.
