Outlook Flags

I may get an e-mail and then attach a flag to remind myself to get th
task done. Due to sizing limits on my e-mail, i typically copy th
message to my personal archive for filing.
It appears that if you do this, the follow up flag never pop's up. Ha
anyone experienced this or know how to fix it so that they still po
up??

That's expected; natively reminders only fire from the default folders.

If you really want it to work, look into Extended Reminders by Ken Slovak:

If I have them as a sub-folder to my inbox will they pup up

With Extended Reminders your reminders would pop up if they are in a
subfolder of your Inbox or in another mail folder in your default mail
store (where you get your email delivered). If you need the reminders
from another mail store, such as a non-default PST file you would need
to use Reminder Manager instead of Extended Reminders.
