Hi Brian,

The "email account" field is an optional field obtained by customisin
your view.

I just tried exporting from Outlook Express but I still have the sam
problem. Thanks anyway.

Anyone else know how to get this field set correctly?

I see it. This field is based on the accounts in your Outlook profile and
reflects the name you gave the account when you created it. It will be
whatever name was created when you imported your account settings into
Outlook from Outlook Express or whatever you make that name in yor account
properties. You can't export that name from OE to OL, only import it with
OL from OE (File>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail Account Settings).

Nope, this still isn't working. I have multiple email accounts, ye
when I import my messages from OE, OL sets the "email account" field o
all the messages to that of my default email account. Any new message
received have the correct account name, but old imported messages ar
all given the default account name.

By the way, I had to manually recreate my account settings in OL (usin
exactly the same account names as in OE), because the import functio
returned "No internet accounts were found to import".

Has anyone managed to import messages from OE to OL with the "emai
account" field correctly transferred?

I too would like the answer to this one.
I have spent several hours reading through various forums and post
trying to find out if anyone has been able to do this.

I just bought Office 2003 and decided that it was about time to mak
the transfer from OE6 to Outlook.

All my messages and address book were transferred easily but trying t
import the settings just pops up that accursed message "No interne
accounts were found to import".

Having to do this manually with several accounts is ridiculou
especially as Outlook won't allow me to paste into the account detai
boxes.

I'm just about to give up and go back to *reliable* OE6.

Any help appreciated...but having looked through 10 pages of searc
messages I can see that no one so far seems to have posted a solution.

Is it really that we have to do it manually

Hmm... It takes me about ten to fifteen seconds to set up a new account
from scratch. Ten accounts, therefore take about three minutes at the
outside. Is that way too much time for you to spend?
