I am having a problem with the e-mail through outlook
express. For some reason when my husband,who is the 2nd
identity gets in to check his e-mail outlook keeps his
identity as the main identity and when I try to log on I
have to shut off the computer in order for me to be able
to check mine and sometimes it freezes and won't even let
me in,it actually assumes my husbands identity instead of
the main identity which is mine. I don't know if any of
this makes any sense, but I need help so that doesn't
continue to happen, Can you help???? Thanks.

I have EXACTLY the same problem with two different
computers both with XP. Both of mine have had all the
updates and patches I can find, but the problems
persist. The article that Microsoft puts out doesn't
exactly address it, and the patch doesn't work. If you
find an answer, I would LOVE a response! Both my ISP and
my manufacturers (2 different ones) say the problem is in
OE.

Option/workaround:

Before changing identity, Press F1. The Outlook Express "Help" window will
open (and leave it running in the background). Now click on FILE > SWITCH
IDENTITY and select your other identity.

Option:

Put a shortcut to msoe.chm in the Startup folder and leave the default ID
active.

Click on File/Identities/Manage Identities and remove the
checkmark in "Use this identity when starting a program".
