I am unable to open attachments a message saying "create an association in
the folders options control panel" appears. Don't know how to do this.
Would appreciate some help with the matter.

This happened to me on some file attachments and this was the advice I got:-

"Apparently this happens if there is no OPEN action in the Windows File Associations.
Most likely there is a default PLAY action.

Resolution:

Create an OPEN action with the same command line as the Play action.
