I don't even know if I am in the right forum for this-
but I am having a problem with newly installed Windows XP
Home.

When one of my children sends a photo of a grandchild as
an attachment and I click the paper clip - the data is
faint - not highlighted - and the attachment does not
open.

I checked the formatting for when I send messages and
HTML is checked - but I can find no information replating
to the receiving of pictures - and this may apply to all
attachments. I never had this problem before.

If any one can help I would sincerely appreciate it.

You can reply to the e-mail address above, because I
promise you, I will never be able to find my way back to
this page again.

In Outlook Express click tools--options---security tab------remove X from 'do
not allow attachments------'

Open Outlook Express; click on Tools; click on Options in
the drop-down menu; click on Security tab. Does the
block to the left of "Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened that could potentially be a virus."
contain a check mark?. If it does, click on the box to
remove the check mark. Please be advised that you must
now exercise extreme care in dealing with attachments, in
order to protect your computer from infection.
Click "Apply" and "OK". This will allow you to receive
and open attachments.
