Does anyone know of a way to simply import all of my information currently
held in Outlook Express into Windows Mail. I should note that the two
programs aren't on the same computer: outlook is on my desktop while windows
mail is on my new laptop. Thanks!

..............ok, trying this again.

Mike,
I just did this last evening 'OE to Win Mail' , XP machine to Vista machine.

old machine .. create a folder on the desktop -- i.e. MAIL within MAIL
create a folder for each of your old email chapters i.e. inbox, sent,
delete......... etc.

open OE and from each chapter hi-lite all messages and drag to the
associated sub-folder you created on the desktop. Do this for each message
set and put the MAIL folder set to a portable device, CD/ext HDD,
thumbdrive........

new machine .. open Win Mail and create any chapters needed then open the
portable MAIL folder and for each sub-folder copy the .eml files to the
respective WinMail chapter.

.....the address book, simply do the export/import via a portable device
as above.

Really simple process, it worked for me..... if in doubt try it for the
deleted messages folder content for a couple messages.

Good Luck.... boBB
