I hope some kind soul can help me. I am trying to help a
friend (yes really a friend)switch over from Express to
Office Outlook 2003. All settings look normal as compared to
my computer where a I accomplished the same thing sometime
ago. The problem lies in receiving mail. No matter what I do,
mail always goes to her Express account. I've checked all the
obvious i.e. used the wizard test in outlook, checked to see
the default box is checked etc.. Office Outlook sends mail ok.
But only OE receives it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to
get received mail to Office Outlook? I don't really want to
delete Express from her computer. Thanks in advance.

If you want Outlook Express to not receive the mail, DON'T RUN IT. Outlook
Express can't download mail if it doesn't run. Alternatively, remove the
mail account from OE so that, even if you do run it, it can't receive mail.

Aside from what Brian said, if you expect Outlook to work, you cannot delete
Outlook Express. They share some files.
