Outlook Express to My Pictures.. Changes to a FILE

Once again. On my friend's email in Outlook Express.
She opens email, Clicks "Save File As.." (these are JPEGs)
and they go to My Pictures.. and show up as FILES.
She has Norton Systemworks, so Temporary files get
deleted. I can't find any option for compression, etc.
Help!! TY :)
