Outlook Express msgs all been deleted

Hello all,

I've just gone back into OE and have found that every
message has been deleted and was wondering if anyone
could help at all please? Anyway, I know they're still
there, but just inavailbable as the .dbx files are all
there and of different/large sizes and have the right
names etc. I think it was because I turned the computer
off before it'd finshed shutting down properly. They were
fine this afternoon, but now, they're all gone. I've
tried importing, but it only downloads one folder.
Perhaps this is the only uncorrupt one. It could also be
a corruption of the folders.dbx file, but I dunno.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Do you have "Compact messages in background" in Tools, Options, Maintenance selected? If yes deselect as it corrupts folders and causes poor performance. To compact place cursor on Outlook Express in the Folder List and select File, Folder, Compact All whilst OFFLINE.

You may be able to recover the messages from the corrupted file(s) using an Extract Tool moving them to a new local folder created by placing the cursor on Local Folder in the Folder List and selecting File, Folder, New. Further information and the Tool are available through the link below:

before you try that, try creating a new identity and importing your old
files.
 
You are surely using McAfee 6.0
Go for a patch to upgrade that. I had the same problem. It helped!!!!.
