Outlook express import of saved data file

Right before my laptop crashed I was able to export my
outlook express datafiles (address, calendar, contacts,
and message). After fixing my laptop and doing a complete
software reload I have been able to import all my outlook
data files (address, calendar, contacts)but not the
message folders. On my backup CD I can see every Inbox
folder - when I try to import the Inbox folder or the
individual folders, I get an error message saying another
program is using the file. I have also copied the message
folders to My Documents to see if having them resident on
my harddrive would help. It doesn't.
Does anyone know a procedure I can use to import the
messages?
I would appreciate any and all help on this problem. I
absolutely need to get to some of these messages.
Thanks.

Outlook Express does not have a calendar. Please tell us what application
you are using, Outlook or Outlook Express.

If Outlook, copy the file from the CD to the hard drive and use File->Open
in Outlook to access your data.

If Outlook Express, ask in an Outlook Express group.
