Why do multiple 'Vertical" lines appear on the left side of text in many
"forwarded" messages? What would prevent them from happening? Is there an
easy way to get rid of them... when you want to forward the same Email?
Isn't there a related setting that prevents the >>> as well? Where/what is
this setting?

Tools-> Options-> tab Send-> button Plain Text... controls it for the
messages you send. You cannot control it for the messages you receive.

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

Thanks for the reply....... yes, I remembered after I went there. Mine was
set properly to prevent this. I assume this is NOT an issue if you have your
machine set to send in HTML (that's where mine is)??? Does this create
problems? What/which is the better setting? Why? This is a different issue
than using "Rich Text" setting/format in Outlook... right????

The HTML indent is a line next to the message.

Which format is better? Well that depends on what you are trying to achieve.
HTML has more options to graphically edit your message while Plain Text is
the most compatible one. Practically every mail client can understand HTML
messages though and mail servers who do not support it can translate it
properly to Plain Text in most cases. The additional benefit of Plain Text
is that the messages are smaller then HTML messages.
