Outlook Express - Closing it

I went to close out of Microsoft OUtlook express last night and it has the little window that says " Please wait while microsoft outlook exits". Well it is not closing, I can still open it up again from the icon but this window won't close. Any one have any suggestions. Ctrl Alt Del doesn't work either.
