outlook express attachments

I am having a problem opening up my attachments in Outlook Express ever since
I bought my new computer. The attachment shows in a light grey font and will
not open. I have been all through the options in Outlook and can't seem to
find what I need to make it work.......any suggestions for me???
I caught a nasty something from the internet on my last p.c so I have
installed every firewall I could get my hands on<---- not too sure if I
should have done that, but it gave me piece of mind at the time.

In Outlook Express select Tools, Options and go to the Security tab. Remove
the check from "Do no allow attachments to be opened or saved..." With that
turned off, make sure that you do *not* open any attachments that you didn't
specifically request.

I have windows xp with a cable internet connection.
I have no networked computers.
I am using McAfee virus protection.
I have McAfee firewall, Zone firewall and the Microsoft XP firewall
installed.

There will be compatibilty issues between firewalls,
You should Only run one and in your PC make it McAfee.
XP firewall only blocks outbound traffic.
You have McAfee - Disable XP firewall.

For opening attachments in OE, try:
Tools/Options
Click the "Security" tab
