Outlook Express Archiving Messages

I am trying to archive old messages, but cannot find the
correct extensions nor locations of the archived
(compacted) files? The documentation states one file
type, but none are present on my computer.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.
