Outlook Express and file type associations

I have an issue with opening e-mails with "pps" or "ppt" file extensions.
When I double click on the attachment icon to open the file and view the
powerpoint presentation, I get an error message that says that I must create
an association between the file type and a program. I have followed the
instructions and it still does not work. I use Powerpoint Viewer and the
program is running fine. To prove this, any powerpoint file that I can not
open directly in Outlook, opens perfectly once it has been saved to the c:
drive, then opened. So I beleive Powerpoint viewer is not the problem but
Outlokk Express is. I can not find any support information on this issue and
do not know what to do. Attachments with other file types (wma, txt, excel,
etc.) all open correctly.

thanks

Ask in an Outlokk Express newsgroup like
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general
