Outlook Express 6 problems

Two problems which may be related. These started recently; the program ran
fine for a long time prior:

1. Messages which are in the inbox view, once selected, fail to disappear
when deleted. Can't delete them or drag them to the recycle bin.

2. When sending messages, I sometimes get the following message:

An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800C0131

The message then does not leave the outbox. Usually, if I go to tools - send
and receive - send and receive all, it is sent OK. This was also an
occasional problem which has gotten worse recently.

Rebooting the system corrects this for a little while, then things act up
again. Stopping and restarting Outlook Express does not improve the
situation.

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).
