outlook express 6: missing messages

Lately several correspondents have told me that they have sent me emails
which have never arrived. The messages have not been 'bounced back' to them;
and the sources are very diverse in terms of location and ISP. A fair number
of messages do seem to be getting through but I have noticed that the volume
of my mail has unaccountably decreased. Any suggestions as to what might be
causing this please, and as to how it might be set right?

Check your spam folder at your ISP's web site.

Thanks for the suggestion, Wesley, but I'm not sure whether I even have a
spam folder at my ISP, or if I do how I would go about accessing it. My ISP
is MSN but the nearest my limited skills take me in this direction is my
Hotmail account. Any suggestions as to how I could unearth the folder you
suggest checking?

I have no idea for MSN or Hot Mail.

I use Outlook express, Comcast is my ISP and there is Screened Mail folder
that traps quite a bit of spam.

If you're using Outlook Express...

Messages in Inbox or other mail folders disappear

Outlook Express e-mail messages are missing from the Inbox folder

If you're not using OE, I have no idea.

Thanks a lot for the info, Wesley. I'm not sure I'll be able to track down
the missing messages via my ISP but the addresses you provided are going to
be useful for the future.

They must have a 'contact us' - or read their home pages for their services
etc.

If you use the mail client for Msn, it is included.
However, if you use Outlook Express for your Msn mail,
you will have to sign-in to your account via Hotmail.
There you can set your filters and options.

Thanks, Mae, but I'd already tried that remedy to no avail. The ether must be
alive with the spectres of undelivered messages.

They then arrive as spam. LOL
