Recently every e-mail I receive has [SPAM] in the subject
column. Why? It didn't use to do this.

Red,

You don't state where this is occurring- home/office
environment.

Without knowing more, my best guess would be that you're
describing your home PC and mail client. It is possible
your ISP has some form of Spam-tagging invoked. They may
have sent you notice there were going to do this, or they
may have just started w/o notice.

Do all legitimate emails have this label in the subject?
You may need to consider the source of those emails-if
your contacts use known spam-based accounts or their mail
server is blacklisted on one of many internet blacklists,
their mail may be inadvertantly tagged.

You'd probably do best to call your ISP regarding this
matter for assistance in configuring or toning down the
tagging function.

I worked for an ISP for about 3 months and we had
a "SPAM?" tag in anything potentially suspicious, allowing
the end user to choose to keep or discard. It isn't meant
to flag each and every message though.
